The new Pilot Flying J Travel Plaza opened on Monday, Oct. 22, in Roberts on 70th Avenue near the exchange of I-94 and Highway 65. The business is located across from the entrance to County Concrete.
According to a news release from Flying J’s corporate offices, the new Pilot Flying J location has brought 55 new jobs to Roberts.
The new station includes eight diesel lanes and 12 gasoline lines with high speed pumps; expanded food offerings including pizza, salads, sandwiches and hot dogs; coffee and cappuccino as well as other general merchandise.
“We’re proud that our new travel plaza will serve this community through products and services as well as contribute to the local economy,” said Jimmy Haslam, CEO of Pilot Flying J. “And, we’ll fill the needs of professional drivers carrying goods to communities across North America.”
The new facility is one of nine Pilot Flying J locations in Wisconsin and one of 651 locations in North America.
Pilot Flying J estimates the new store will contribute more than $4.8 million annually in state and local tax revenue.
“Our staff takes great pride in providing the quality service our guests deserve,” said Alec MacDonald, general manager for the new store.
