This past summer participants in the Centre’s Youth Character Initiative (YCI) spent time each week volunteering in the community as a way to give back to those who have given to them.
One of their favorite community activities was volunteering at the Five Loaves Food Shelf. The kids help unload food and stock the shelves.
The program is led by Larissa Ruud and, due to the success of the summer program, YCI is now offered Monday through Thursday after school right at the middle school.
Twenty-four middle school kids participated in the program this past summer.
