To the Editor:
I truly believe when people join together to help one another it creates stronger, healthier communities.
As United Way St. Croix Valley’s 2012 campaign chair, it has been uplifting to see how communities in Polk, Pierce and St. Croix counties are working together to help those most in need. With your help, UWSCV supports more than 60 local nonprofit agencies that improve lives by meeting basic and emergency needs, strengthening children and families and promoting health and independence.
Several of those — Turningpoint, Family Resource Center St. Croix Valley and Interfaith Caregivers of Polk County — are featured in our campaign film.
Our honorary chair, Jason Davis from KSTP’s “On the Road,” stars in the film, which you can view on our website.
I am also excited that we have a $2,000 matching grant available on givemn.org’s “Give to the Max Day” Nov. 15, so people can double their gift when they give to UWSCV online that day.
There is so much going on this campaign season, and I invite you to visit our website to learn more about what we are doing in your community. I hope you will join us by investing in your community, championing our cause or giving your time.
There is still time for your company to begin a fundraising campaign if you haven’t yet.
Our heartfelt thanks goes out to the individuals, schools, corporations and other organizations that are impacting our communities with their support for United Way St. Croix Valley.
