HealthPartners recognized New Richmond Clinic — a division of Western Wisconsin Medical Associates (WWMA) — with a “silver performance” for Minnesota Community Measurement (MNCM) Optimal Vascular Care during a Partners in Excellence dinner held recently.
The Partners in Excellence program creates the basis for Health Partners’ financial and public recognition for medical or specialty groups achieving high levels of performance in areas of clinic quality, patient experience, and affordability - or otherwise known as Triple Aim Performance.
Minnesota Community Measurement is a non-profit organization that provides objective information on the quality of health care; measures data; and submits it to organizations such as HealthPartners. HealthPartners evaluates the data from clinics in Minnesota and western Wisconsin and selects clinics based on how well the patient populations are being managed.
The Silver Performance Award is given to healthcare clinics with 55-59 percent of their patient population with vascular disease (ages 18 to 75) meeting the following four goals: 1) maintain blood pressure less than 130/80; 2) LDL cholesterol level less than 100 mg/dl; 3) non-smoker status; and 4) is on a daily aspirin use regimen.
Minnesota Community Measurement average for optimal management of Vascular Care is 47 percent and the WWMA clinics performed above average with 57 percent of vascular disease meeting all four goals.
WWMA physicans from all three divisions were recognized in helping patients with vascular disease achieve treatment goals to prevent heart attack and stroke.
“We are honored to receive this award,” said David DeGear, MD, medical director and family medicine physician at New Richmond Clinic. “It demonstrates a coordinated regional effort and commitment to care for the patients of western Wisconsin.”
Western Wisconsin Medical Associates (WWMA), an independent, physician-owned primary care medical group is composed of Hudson Physicians, New Richmond Clinic and the River Falls, Ellsworth and Spring Valley Medical Clinics and staffs more than 80 healthcare providers.
