The fifth annual Power of the Purse is being planned as a fundraiser for FamilyMeans in Stillwater.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Prom Center in Oakdale, Minn. Tickets cost $35 per person. Tickets are now available at www.familymeans.org.
The annual FamilyMeans event brings together more than 300 women (and a few men) to learn about the agency’s programs and services that support the community in the areas of credit counseling and financial education; therapy and counseling support; grief, loss and trauma support; caregiver support and education; and youth development programs.
In addition to learning what FamilyMeans has to offer, attendees have time to shop for purses and other fun items, while sipping mimosas, during the event’s silent auction.
Then, attendees will enjoy a brunch and hear from keynote speaker Colleen Lindstrom talk about “Keeping her Cool” through life’s experiences. In addition to her on-air role as part of the Colleen & Bradley Show on FM 107, Colleen is a busy mom to young children, which includes a set of twins.
FamilyMeans is an accredited Stillwater-based nonprofit organization that provides services to western Wisconsin and Minnesota residents. Services provided include financial counseling; family and individual counseling; grief, loss and trauma therapy; mental health services; collaborative divorce; caregiver support; employee assistance; and youth enrichment programs.
