A Duluth, Minn. man was killed Friday after crashing his motorcycle at Cedar Lake Arena.
The accident happened at about 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, according to the St. Croix County (Wis.) Sheriff’s Department.
Joseph Brown, 55, of Duluth, was riding his motorcycle at the arena, 1120 Old Mill Road in Star Prairie Township, when he lost control going over a jump, said Sheriff John Shilts. The motorcycle crashed and Brown landed on his shoulder.
Witnesses attempted CPR until an ambulance arrived at the scene, he said. Crews from New Richmond Area Ambulance Service transported Brown to Westfields Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine whether there were any medical issues surrounding Brown’s death.
It’s believed Brown was at the arena practicing for the Saturday, Jan. 5, motocross race.
Brown was a member of the American Motorcycle Association and co-founder of the Northland Motorcycle Riders Association, according to his obituary. He was founder, co-owner and operator of Twin Ports Concrete Pumping.
