Chuck Polfus elected to retire from Frontier, Inc. (formally Polfus Implement) on Dec. 31, 2012.
For more than 70 years, the Polfus family has been connected with John Deere Company and the New Richmond community. Clarence Polfus started Polfus Implement in 1941.
Chuck Polfus graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a degree in business. He joined Polfus Implement in 1961, and the business grew steadily.
Chuck Polfus guided the business for more than four decades. He experienced the agricultural boom years of the 1970’s, as well as the economic challenges of the 1980’s.
Over the years, Polfus Implement received many awards from John Deere for sales and customer satisfaction achievement. This recognition was a direct result of Chuck Polfus’s leadership and philosophy.
In the 1990’s, Chuck Polfus brought Chris Polfus and Greg Christenson in as business partners.
In the past two decades under this management team, Frontier has grown into a six-store operation with locations in New Richmond, Turtle Lake, Osceola, Hastings, Minn. Rosemount, Minn. and Cannon Falls, Minn.
Frontier Ag & Turf is considered one of John Deere’s “Dealers of Tomorrow.”
“Chuck’s dedication to his customers and employees is well known and has set the pace for the business to thrive and grow,” said Greg Christenson. “His influence will be long lasting and not forgotten.”
As Chuck Polfus moved into retirement, Frontier Ag & Turf has been purchased by Greg Christenson. Chris Polfus continues to own and operate Brady’s Brewhouse in New Richmond.
“Frontier will continue to operate under its founding principles formed by the Polfus family of compassion, integrity, dedication and accountability,” Christenson said.
