St. Mary’s School is celebrating Catholic Schools Week this week, a week dedicated to celebrating Catholic schools in America.

This year’s theme is “Catholic schools raise the standards.”

A week of events is planned, from a Mass on Sunday to an open house and other activities for students, families, parishioners and the community at large.

The week schedule for St. Mary’s School includes:

Sunday: 9 a.m. Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, with breakfast from 9 a.m. until noon

Monday: No school

Tuesday: Sports day, kids are allowed to wear their favorite sports clothes

Wednesday: 10 a.m. Mass at St. Bridget’s in River Falls and 1 p.m. talent show

Thursday: Pajama day, students are allowed to wear their pajamas and movie night at the school

Friday: Color day, students are asked to wear their class color, science experiments will be demonstrated, a wax museum will be on display, Historical Hysteria will be performed, and alumni are invited to the school for tea.

The “Catholic schools raise the standards” theme supports the recent launch of the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools. The standards ensure the effective operation and responsible governance Catholic schools across the country, thus promoting high academic standards and Catholic identity.
