Stanley D. Denker, age 79, of New Richmond, died Friday, Feb. 1, at Westfields Hospital.

Stanley D. Denker, age 79, of New Richmond, died Friday, Feb. 1, at Westfields Hospital.

He was born the son of Glenn and Lenora (Damrow) Denker on Feb. 7, 1933. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and graduated from UW-Stout in Menomonie. Stanley worked as an engineer at Doboy and achieved 32 patents.

He enjoyed singing, cooking, building and inventing things. He enjoyed riding bicycle and biked across the state. He loved model airplanes.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Carol; and sister, Janet Kaufman.

He is survived by his wife Sharon; children, Cindy (Roy) Cooper, Scott (Lynn) Denker, Sue (Greg) Nordwig, Dean (Pat) Everson, Jonelle (David) Maddock; grandchildren, Tony Gonzalez, Sammi (TJ) Flora, Josh Cooper, Chad (Niki) Denker, Daren (Jen) Denker, Andy Denker, Renata Nordwig, Moriah Everson, Cory Ricci, Elizabeth (Brad) Jordan, Becky (Josh) Kochsiek, Danielle Thalacker, Blake Maddock; great-grandchildren, Sydney Denker, Liam and Bjorn Denker, Derek and Everett Jordan, Ayden and Colton Kochsiek; sister, Ceil (Bud) Stamm.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in New Richmond. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at Bakken-Young Beebe Chapel in New Richmond and also Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Interment with military honors will be in the New Richmond Cemetery. Music was very important to Stan, and the family would like to say a special thank you to the St. Croix Valley Community Christian Choir, Vivian Knops, Loretta Kummerfeldt, and Jeanine Carlson for performing at Stan's funeral.
