When Mike and Sarah Moore opened Fore Moore’s last October, they had no idea they’d be moving their business just four short months later.
“When we found out we had the opportunity to buy this building and it had a kitchen and a full liquor license, it just made sense,” Sarah said.
Moving to the new location at 157 S. Knowles Ave. was no easy task, she said.
“We had to do a lot of work,” she said.
The building’s upper level was full to the brim with dishes, appliances, booths, etc.
“We moved everything downstairs and decided to hold an auction,” she said. “We got rid of everything, which really saved us in having to dispose of it all.”
The Moores opened Fore Moore’s in southern New Richmond last October after returning from their honeymoon and realizing there were no mini golf businesses in the area.
After the move, the Moores decided to split the name of the bar and the mini golf course.
“People were confused and didn’t realize Fore Moore’s wasn’t kid friendly,” she said.
Now, Fore Moore’s is simply the mini golf course and is in a separate space (the basement) from the bar area. Sam’s Corner Bar and Grill is housed in the upper level of the business.
The move required the Moores to change the mini golf course.
The nine-hole layout was designed to fit their former space, which was larger than the new building.
“We had to modify some of the holes, but we’re happy with the move,” Sarah said.
New themes are being developed for each of the holes. Currently golfers travel through a dinosaur-themed hole and a jungle-themed hole.
“They’re really fun,” Sarah said.
Fore Moore’s is open daily from noon to 8 p.m. Sam’s Corner Bar and Grill is open daily from 11 a.m. until bar close.
The food offerings include appetizers, eight variations of burgers, which can also be ordered as chicken sandwiches, chicken baskets, fish baskets, shrimp baskets, wings and pizza.
Sarah said various salads will be added to the menu in the near future.
The bar offers a full liquor selection and daily specials are offered. A large bank of televisions give the bar section of the business a sports bar feel.
Downstairs families can order food from the bar; however, no alcoholic beverages will be allowed on the lower level, Sarah said.
Fore Moore’s is available for birthday parties, holiday parties, company functions and more.
While Fore Moore’s is a family-friendly space, Sarah said it’s important that children be supervised while using the space.
