Hudson woman injured in commuter crash

A spin-out on the St. Croix River bridge apparently contributed to an accident that sent a Hudson woman to Regions Hospital on Wednesday morning. The other driver was also from Hudson.

A spin-out on the St. Croix River bridge apparently contributed to an accident that sent a Hudson woman to Regions Hospital on Wednesday morning.

According to Wisconsin State Patrol, Alysa Keane, 35, 44 Ashbury Court, was transported by ambulance to Regions Hospital after the Lincoln Navigator she was driving was rear-ended by a Chevy Cavalier driven by 17-year-old Alexander Gonzalez, also of Hudson.

The accident took place on northbound Hwy. 35 near Hanley Road. The report indicated that traffic was backed up on the road waiting to get onto westbound I-94 when the accident occurred.

Keane was listed in good condition at Regions late Wednesday afternoon.

EMS and fire crews from Hudson were alerted to the accident in the northbound lanes at about 7:15 a.m.

Northbound motorists who got around that incident arrived on I-94 only to find further delays due to the spin-out in the westbound lanes of the St. Croix River crossing. The State Patrol said traffic was backed up more than four miles at one point.

The Patrol reported all lanes reopened on I-94 at 8:07 a.m.
