In the NBA, Milwaukee forward Joe Alexander sat out of the Bucks’ first two training camp practices Tuesday with a strained hamstring.
He hurt it a week ago at an informal workout, and coach Scott Skiles says it will be re-evaluated in a few days.
Alexander, who’s in his second year, missed a lot of time at camp last season with a stomach injury. He says his new injury is nothing major.
Meanwhile, Skiles gave the Bucks a challenge Tuesday to be among the top-five teams in the NBA in defensive field-goal percentage.
He said the Bucks started out to be a good defensive squad last year, but then they got away from it.
Skiles said that if the Bucks hold their opponents to a low shooting percentage, and if they have solid rebounding, they’ll win.
Last year, the Bucks were 16th in the league with a defensive field-goal percentage of 45.8.
