Sherrill Schottler, co-owner of the St. Croix Valley Tree Farm in Somerset, looks over part of the 160 acres she has owned since 1970. She and her husband John have placed the property into a conservation easement with the Star Prairie Land Preservation Trust. The easement will allow the property to remain rural and undeveloped for perpetuity – no matter who owns it in the future.
