Soldiers from the 229th Horizontal Engineer Company are working to excavate several acres of Hatfield Lake Regional Park. Originally the plan was to excavate 40 acres, but because of large amounts of rain only 13-14 acres — two soccer fields, three holding ponds and a parking lot — will be complete when the Guard leaves on July 1.
