Michael C. Polfus, 62, of Gilbert, Ariz. passed away on May 6, 2009.
Michael was born on Aug. 3, 1946 in New Richmond to Clarence and Olivia Polfus. He grew up in New Richmond and lived there until he moved to Arizona in 1979 with his wife and family.
He was a man of many gifts and talents, from being a wonderful businessman in New Richmond to being an amazing swimming pool designer in Arizona. He had a wonderful imagination and loved to dream and design. To those who were lucky enough to be honored to know Mike, you know what a wonderful, honest, would do anything for you, person he was. He was that way for his family and he was that way for his friends. He was a man who loved God and he knew exactly where he was going after leaving this life. Our hearts are breaking to not have him here with us, but we are relieved to know he is not in pain anymore.
Michael is survived by his wife of 40 years, Susan; their son Michael Robert and wife Colleen; their daughter Kim; and their daughter Jenny and husband Aaron. He is also survived by his three very loved grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Christian, Kate and new baby boy Ellsworth, born on May 5. He is also survived by his brother Chuck (Mary); and nephew Chris and niece Nancy. His in-laws, Bob and LaVerne Malmgren, and family will also miss him.
His Celebration of Life service was held on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Mesa, Ariz.
