Gale M. "Breeze" Brendemihl, age 75, of New Richmond, passed away Oct. 11 at United Hospital in St. Paul after a short illness.

Gale M. "Breeze" Brendemihl, age 75, of New Richmond, passed away Oct. 11 at United Hospital in St. Paul after a short illness.

Gale was born Oct. 15, 1935, in Marshfield, Wis. He spent his childhood in Rice Lake and moved to New Richmond where he graduated from New Richmond High School in 1953. Gale's family operated Brendemihl's Shoe Store in New Richmond. Gale joined the Army upon graduation and was stationed at Fort Hood in Texas. He received a Good Conduct medal and was honorably discharged from the Army in 1963. Gale was a long-time employee at 3M Company in St. Paul. Gale spent the majority of his years at his home on Cedar Lake.

He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Wisconsin sports fan. He greatly enjoyed the Packers, Brewers, and University of Wisconsin sports teams. He spent his last several years as a resident at The Deerfield in New Richmond. Gale will be remembered as a very polite and humble man and will be missed by numerous friends and acquaintances.

Gale was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Irene (Hyland) Brendemihl; brothers Kenneth, Clifford, and Curtis; sister, Jeanette.

He is survived by his brother Gerald of Milwaukee and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Bakken-Young Funeral Home Beebe Chapel in New Richmond.
