Douglas P. Mielke, 64, March 12, 1947 - Oct. 29, 2011. Doug Mielke of Somerset, Wis., passed away after a courageous 2-1/2 year battle with cancer.

Douglas P. Mielke, 64, March 12, 1947 - Oct. 29, 2011. Doug Mielke of Somerset, Wis., passed away after a courageous 2-1/2 year battle with cancer.

He was employed by Andersen Windows for 38 years.

Doug enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and playing cribbage with his mother. He was a proud dad and loved to spend time with his grandchildren. His laughter, jokes, and sense of humor will be remembered by all.

Doug was preceded in death by his father, Paul Mielke.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carmen (Cook); children, Jodi (Paul) Gilbert, Jill (Mike) Albert, Jenny (Greg) Meixner, Jason (Carrie) Mielke, and Janelle (Dave) Smith; seven grandchildren; loving mother, Gertrude (Parent) Mielke; sisters, Gretchen (Mandrow) Wenzel, and Kathleen (Gerald) Larson.

Visitation 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, and Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, with visitation 1 hour prior to service, all at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Somerset.

The Mielke Family, I knew Doug for many years and was lucky enough to call him my friend. Doug always made us laugh at the many Sportsman staff Christmas parties that we attended together. God Bless you Doug. Tom Belisle
