Gary, a loving husband, caring father, and friend to everyone he met, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011.

Gary’s family and friends were the most important part of his life. He spent summer weekends at the family cabin fishing and relaxing with his wife, Shannon. Gary had a soft spot for animals and much of his time was spent enjoying the outdoors with his dogs. He had a passion for cars, the Packers, Brewers, and Rousch Racing. From his morning coffee with friends to dinner out on Friday evenings, he will be missed by many but never forgotten.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, George and Bernice Olsen; brother Jay; sister-in-law, Doris Olsen; niece Sandy (Nutzman) Ludwitzke; and nephew Jerry Johnson.

Gary will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Shannon (Dowd); children, Sally (Heather Schommer), Matthew (Tracy Danforth), Jay; granddaughter, Tobi; brother Perry; sisters, Bev (Ray) Nutzmann and Mary Jo (Clinton) Johnson; in-laws, Tom Dowd, Pat (Mary Jo) Dowd, and Kathy (Chuck) Borgstrom; also many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Richmond, Wis. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Cullen Crea Funeral Home, 307 S. Arch Ave., New Richmond, and also 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Interment parish cemetery.

gary was a very good friend of mine and old roomate in the 70 s in san diego, always enjoyed talking cars, sports, and shooting the breeze over a beer, alot of good times and old stories, we will all miss him greatly, best wishes to shanon and family, steve breault
