Evelyn (Often) Ziegel, born Aug. 16, 1921, in Prairie Farm, Wis., died peacefully at “The Gathering” in Stillwater, Minn., on Nov. 16.
Evelyn (Often) Ziegel, born Aug. 16, 1921, in Prairie Farm, Wis., died peacefully at “The Gathering” in Stillwater, Minn., on Nov. 16.
She was preceded in death by husband, Clarence “Doc”; parents, Edward and Gena Often; uncle, Oscar Moe; niece MaryAnn (Aronson) Mack; and nephews Gary Aronson and Bruce Aronson.
Survived by son, Thomas of Prairie Farm; daughters, Julie Koepp of Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Karen (Dave) Stephens of New Richmond, Wis.; grandchildren, Christopher Koepp of Brooklyn Park, Stephanie (Jon) Kelson of Minneapolis, and Allison Stephens of New Richmond; sisters, Lorraine Aronson of St Croix Beach, Minn., Gertrude Often of New Richmond; and many special nieces and nephews.
Ev was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, schoolteacher, friend, and member of First Lutheran Church. She taught elementary school for 33 years. She loved her flower gardens, baking, and visiting with family and friends. Ev was always the first to lend a helping hand to those in need. Whether it be one of her wonderful meals, baked goods, or flower bouquets, it was always a treat to be the recipient of her gifts. She will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at First Lutheran Church in New Richmond. Memorial visitation will also be Monday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be private.
