James A. "Jim" Cody, age 84, of New Richmond, Wis., died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, Nov. 26.
James A. "Jim" Cody, age 84, of New Richmond, Wis., died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, Nov. 26.
Jim was born on June 27, 1927, to John and Marie (Trow) Cody in Stanton Township, Wis. Jim was president of the New Richmond High School Class of 1945. He was a treasurer for Stanton Township and served as a commissioner with the Upper Willow River Rehabilitation District. He was a member of the St. Croix County Land and Water Conservation Committee and served on the Board of Directors at the 1st National Community Bank. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and a trustee for St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Stanton until its closing.
Jim was a lifelong dairy farmer, community servant and a faithful friend. We will all miss his humor, wisdom and positive attitude.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Arliss (Cress); children, David (Clara) Cody, Mary (Brian) Anderson, Jeannie George; brothers, Francis Cody, Charles Cody; grandsons, Erik Anderson, Andrew McCormick, Christian Cody, Brett Anderson; also many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Richmond. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at the Cullen Crea Funeral Home, and also 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Interment St. Bridget's Cemetery.

My thoughts and prayers are with the James Cody family! He was a wonderful friend to my father who passed away 20 years ago last week...they are together now discussing tractors and joking with each other. May the memories help you all through this difficult time!New Richmond, WI 11/28/2011 1:15 PM
