Roland G. Martell, 83

Roland G. Martell of New Richmond, formerly of Osceola, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, at his home at Deerfield, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 83.

Roland was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Laura; infant son Jeffrey Martell; brother Warren Martell; sisters Burnett Anez, Ruth Merkt, Ruby Carlson, and Eileen Strobeen.

He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa; daughters, Jean (Dick) Ebersold, Judy Johnson-McCabe, Janet (Marvin) Rivard, Joan (Steve) Neidermire, Joette (Dennis) McNeilly, Jenifer (Jon) Frank; sons Gerald (Mary) Martell, James (Bridget) Martell, John (Julie) Martell, Jay (Molly) Martell; 23 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; brother Roger (Doreen) Martell; sister Corliss Truskolski; numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Somerset. There will be a prayer service at 6:45 p.m. Also visitation 1 hour prior to the Mass at 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
