Helen Bursch, age 81, died peacefully on Feb. 6.

Helen was born to the late Walter and Alice Hauke in Hudson, Wis. Helen graduated from Hudson High School in 1948. She married the late Floyd Bursch in 1958, and they lived together and raised a family in rural Somerset before retiring to Danbury, Wis., in 1989.

Helen was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She took an active interest in the lives of friends and family. She was involved in public service, having served on the Somerset School Board for 6 years and several years on the Somerset Township Election Board. Helen was also a member of the Somerset American Legion Auxiliary for 39 years.

Helen is survived by her children, Bryan Bursch of Stillwater, Minn., Brad Bursch (fiancée Lorie Sether) of Somerset, Wis., Craig Bursch of Somerset, and Cathy Halverson (Doug) of Hudson. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Joey and Colleen Halverson.

Other survivors include a sister, Phyllis Sicard of Seattle, Wash., and two sisters-in-law, Lottie Fatheree and Nancy Bursch, both of Somerset, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

At Helen's request, a private service was held with immediate family at the Hudson United Methodist Church.
