Lawrence P. Weisenburger, 88
On March 1, 2012, Lawrence P. Weisenburger passed away at Golden Age Manor at the age of 88.
Lawrence P. Weisenburger was born in Storm Lake, Iowa, to his parents, Lawrence H. and Fryeda (Laaker) Weisenburger. At the age of 9, he moved to Washington D.C. with his parents and completed his schooling there. After high school, Lawrence joined the service and fought in WWII. Upon returning from the service, he worked various jobs including repairing cameras and watches and toolmaking. His last job was as a tool design engineer. While working in Post Falls, Idaho, he met Carolyn Berger, and in December of 1975, they were united in marriage. The couple made their home in Idaho until moving to North Carolina in 1976. Lawrence retired in 1989, and he and Carolyn moved to Deer Park, Wis., where he resided until having to move to Golden Age Manor in October of 2010 due to health issues.
On March 1, 2012, Lawrence passed away at Golden Age Manor at the age of 88.
He was a member of the Deer Park Lions, Masons North Star Lodge #187 in Star Prairie, Wis., was a member of the Eastern Star #67, a volunteer driver for the St. Croix Office of Aging, and a member of the Deer Park Senior Center Board. He loved to play cribbage and loved to cook, especially baking bread. He made many loaves of French bread for the church bazaar while living in North Carolina.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents and sister Fryeda Louise Weisenburger.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn, and sister, Darleen Harrington; stepchildren, Lynee (Jeff) Richards, Terry (Carri) Berger, Natalie Jones, and Jeffrey (Beth) Berger. He is also survived by 16 step-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, from United Methodist Church in Deer Park. A visitation will be held the hour before the service at the church. To sign an online guest book and view a video tribute, visit www.williamsonwhite.com.
