Cole Jeffrey Struemke, age 8, of New Richmond, died on Tuesday, March 13, at Children's Hospital in St. Paul, Minn.
Cole Jeffrey Struemke, age 8, of New Richmond, died on Tuesday, March 13, at Children's Hospital in St. Paul, Minn.
Cole was born Sept. 9, 2003, to Shane and Barbara (Rice) Struemke in New Richmond. He attended second grade at Starr Elementary. He enjoyed riding four-wheeler, playing with his LEGOS, Pokémon cards, riding his bike, and playing football at recess with his fellow classmates. He enjoyed spending time with his big sister, Rebecca, and with his grandparents. He enjoyed playing with his friends at school and at home. He always had a smile and enjoyed making people laugh. He was always willing to help others. Through the generosity of Cole, others will live on.
Cole was preceded in death by his uncle Jeffrey Rice; great-grandparents, Merlin (Grandpa Mud) and Bernadette Struemke, Walter and Leona Grant, Bessie and Herbert Hintzman, Algie and Elizabeth Rice. Cole is survived by his parents, Shane and Barbara; sister, Rebecca Rice; grandparents, Jerry and Diane Struemke and Vilas and Deloris Rice; uncles and aunts Tony (Jennifer) Struemke, Wanda Rice, Gary (Cindy) Rice, and Pam (Wayne) Sigsworth; cousins, Samantha and Parker Struemke, Erica, Kaitlyn, Hailey, and Jordan Rice, Aaron, Amanda, Tyler, and Kayloni Sigsworth; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 19, at First Lutheran Church in New Richmond. Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at First Lutheran Church and on Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in New Richmond Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Cole Struemke Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o First National Community Bank, P.O. Box 89, New Richmond, WI 54017.
