Ruth M. Asplund, 86

Ruth M. Asplund, age 86, of Star Prairie, Wis., passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 15, at her son's home in Menomonee Falls, Wis.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Ida Olson from Star Prairie; beloved husband, Donald Asplund; and brother, Warren, killed in Germany during WWII.

She is survived by her son, David; four grandchildren, Calie (Dan) Cera, Tanner (Stephanie), Lindsey, and Aaron; and five great-grandchildren. Her pride and joy was being with her family.

Ruth worked for 27 years in the U.S. Post Office in Star Prairie and was a 26-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary-Post 80. Best known to her friends as "Beb." A special thank you to our family and friends who have visited, sent cards, thoughts and prayers.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Star Prairie. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 23, at the Bakken-Young Funeral Home, Beebe Chapel in New Richmond, and on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
