Marvin L. Rogers, age 77, a lifelong resident of New Richmond, died Saturday, March 24, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minn.

Marvin L. Rogers, age 77, a lifelong resident of New Richmond, died Saturday, March 24, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minn.

He was born the son of Lee and Irene (Larson) Rogers on Aug. 7, 1934. Marvin graduated from New Richmond High School and attended UW-Eau Claire. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the New Richmond American Legion Post #80. Marvin worked at Friday's Canning for over 35 years, retiring in 1998.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Irene Rogers; sisters Edith Wilson and Dorothy Thieme; infant brother, Gary Rogers; and brother-in-law Ted Ewing.

He is survived by his siblings Helen (Glen) Schumacher, Loretta Ewing, Alice (Edward) Olson, Rodney (Karen) Rogers, Gale (David) Langer, Leroy (Edith) Rogers; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 29, at First Lutheran Church in New Richmond. Visitation will also be Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at church. Interment will be in New Richmond Cemetery with military honors provided by the New Richmond American Legion Post #80.
