Darla Kay VanKirk (nee Clark), age 52, of New Richmond, died Saturday, May 5, after a long, hard battle with cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer).

Darla Kay VanKirk (nee Clark), age 52, of New Richmond, died Saturday, May 5, after a long, hard battle with cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer).

Darla was born the daughter of LaMont and Janice Clark on June 10, 1959. She enjoyed hunting and fishing, crafts, sewing, and doing jigsaw puzzles. Darla also liked to travel, hike, watch movies, and spend time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, LaMont; brothers Robert and Thomas Clark; sister Dawn Brown; and brother-in-law Albert John Zinsmeister.

Darla is survived by her mother, Janice Clark, Tomah, Wis.; sons, Matthew (Stacy) Gottbeheat, Camp Douglas, Wis., and Elliott VanKirk, Lannon, Wis.; grandchildren, Mitchell and Colin Gottbeheat; siblings: Steven (Alice) Clark, Winter, Wis.; Kathryn Zinsmeister, New Richmond; Rosanne Quist, Stevens Point, Wis.; Anne (Joe Zimmermann) Quist, Winter; Timothy (Jessica) Clark, Tomah; and Scott Clark, Tomah; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and -nephews, and many friends.
