Marjorie Ann Berget was born on Sept. 23, 1932, on the family farm in Cylon Township of St. Croix County, Wis., to Helmuth and Hazel (Norlander) Krumm. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in New Richmond, Wis. She attended the New Richmond Schools and graduated with the class of 1950. On Aug. 18, 1951, she was united in marriage at First Lutheran Church in New Richmond to Orvin "Obby" Berget. He was the love of her life and her best friend. They shared 49-1/2 years of marriage together. They were blessed with six children who kept her very busy. She was a constant companion and co-worker with Obby on the farm. Besides that, she sold Avon products for 30 years. After retiring from farming, she went to work at the St. Croix Casino as a cashier and was there until her retirement in 2003.
Marjorie's greatest pleasure came in watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at many sporting events. She rarely missed a game or an event! Marge was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she held many offices in WELCA, including president for a number of years. After a fall this past December, she has struggled with many health issues.
