Anna Mae Johnson, age 89, of New Richmond, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Deerfield Gables Care Center.
Anna Mae Johnson, age 89, of New Richmond, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Deerfield Gables Care Center.
She was born the daughter of Alfred and Rena Mae (Olson) Johnson on April 27, 1923, in rural New Richmond. Anna Mae worked in St. Paul as a secretary before returning home to care for her parents and her brother. She was a lifelong member of West Immanuel Lutheran Church and was very active in quilting, Ladies Aid, making lefse, as well as other activities within the church.
Anna Mae is survived by her sister-in-law, Hazel Johnson; nieces, Bev (Steve) Holmgren and Barb Carlson; great-niece, Shelly (Matt) Schauer; great-nephew, Douglas Holmgren; cousins and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Rena; brothers, Russell and Clifford Johnson.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at West Immanuel Lutheran Church. Visitation will also be Tuesday from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Interment is in West Immanuel Church Cemetery.
Arrangements were with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
