Elizabeth T. Pastor, age 99, of Minneapolis, Minn., beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, Dec. 9.
Elizabeth T. Pastor, age 99, of Minneapolis, Minn., beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, Dec. 9.
Elizabeth was born the daughter of David and Grace (McCoy) Thomas on May 23, 1913, in New Richmond, Wis. She attended Carleton College. In 1936, she was married to John D. Pastor Sr. in Chicago, Ill. They made their home in Minneapolis where they raised five children. Elizabeth was an officer with Western Underground Construction Company. In 1963, she began a career as the manager of domestic travel for AAA in Minneapolis. After retiring from AAA in 1978, Elizabeth became an international tour guide and pursued her love of Bridge.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Minneapolis Women's Club, and Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Pastor Sr. (1978.)
Elizabeth is survived by her children, Jean Pastor, Joan Pastor, John D. "Jack" (Kathleen) Pastor Jr., Josef (Patti) Pastor, Jim (Libby) Pastor; grandchildren, Kim Abrahamson, Kari (Scott) Hauser, John D. (Kris) Pastor III, Steve (Lisa Heyda) Pastor, Monica Pastor, Alicia (Daniel) Hollis, Julie (Erik) Wendell, Liana (Joseph) Hilgenkamp, Callie (Joseph) Taralson, Natalie Pastor, Christine Pastor; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Filmore Thomas.
A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 13, at the New Richmond Cemetery in New Richmond.
