Nancy Lee Parnell, age 63, of Amery, Wis., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 20, at the University of Minnesota Hospital.
Nancy Lee Parnell, age 63, of Amery, Wis., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 20, at the University of Minnesota Hospital.
She was born on Oct. 21, 1949, in New Richmond, Wis., to Wayne and Gladys (Rydberg) Cole. Nancy graduated from New Richmond High School, attended nursing school, and then took a job working at the New Richmond Hospital. In May of 1975, she married Donavan (Butch) Parnell, and the couple made their home in Deer Park, Wis., where they raised one son, Sean. They lived there until Butch's passing in July 2003.
Nancy was a very loving mother, sister, daughter, and grandmother who always put others first. She was a nurse for over 45 years and was active with Our Savior's Lutheran Church, playing piano and singing in the choir. She also enjoyed knitting (made many hats for cancer patients,) and loved to watch her son, Sean, play sports.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Cole, and husband, Donavan (Butch) Parnell.
She is survived by her mother, Gladys Cole; son, Sean (Pollee) Parnell; granddaughters, Isabelle Petry and Alexandra Petry; and brother, Jeff Cole; as well as other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27. There will be a visitation held 1 hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
