Kathleen Mary Schmidt, age 82, of Baldwin, passed away Jan. 19 at United Hospital in St. Paul.
Kathleen Mary Schmidt, age 82, of Baldwin, passed away Jan. 19 at United Hospital in St. Paul.
Kathleen was born Aug. 17, 1930, in Roberts, Wis., the daughter of Walter and Gladys (Burdick) Brown. She was united in marriage in August 1949 to Glen Triebold. Although their marriage later dissolved, it was blessed with two daughters, Linda and Sharon. She would later marry Jack Lazaris and Joe Schmidt; both marriages later ended. Throughout her life, Kathleen worked as a nursing assistant for the River Falls Hospital, St. Croix Health Center, New Richmond Care Center, American Heritage, and lastly, Linden Care Center in Stillwater.
Kathleen enjoyed listening to her scanner and keeping a tidy home. She also enjoyed cooking and was known by her family for her spaghetti and brownies. Most important to Kathleen was her family. She cherished and loved spending time playing with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandson. She will also be fondly remembered for her love of perfume.
Kathleen will remain in the hearts of her daughters, Linda (Fran) Conrad of Hammond and Sharon (Chuck) Pizzi of Roberts; grandchildren, Quinton Gullixson, Chad (Tonya Lathe) Gullixson, Eric (Kelly) Gullixson, Nicole (Jamie) Peterson, Mike (Laura) Conrad, Scott (Judy Jensen) Gerhardt, Brian (Christine) Gerhardt, Chris (Liz Frank) Pizzi, Mike (Janelle) Pizzi and Jeff (Holly) Pizzi; great-grandchildren, Tiffany (Eric) Olson, Andrew Harstad, Craig Gullixson, Reanna Gullixson, Hannah Gullixson, Brittany Gullixson, Alysha Peterson, Cooper Peterson, Sedrik Peterson, Jackson Conrad, Andrew Conrad, Tyler Gerhardt, Rachel and Bridgit Gerhardt, Allison and Olivia Pizzi, Brooklynn and Braden Pizzi; great-great-grandson, Jack Olson; and sister Lorraine Jensen of Roberts. She is further survived by Renee Gullixson and Gayle Gerhardt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Roy Brown; sisters Beverly Larson and Donna Triebold; and granddaughter Stephanie Gerhardt.
A memorial gathering will take place from 4-7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. service, Wednesday, Jan. 23, at O'Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton St., Baldwin. Private interment will take place at Warren Cemetery in Roberts.
