Bruce Virgil Emerson, age 61, of New Richmond, Wis., died on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minn.
Bruce was born on Nov. 10, 1951, in New Richmond, Wis., to Virgil and Alice (Kiekhoefer) Emerson.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edward and Doris Kiekhoefer; paternal grandparents, Oliver and Beatrice Emerson; father, Virgil Emerson; and his brother, Curtiss Emerson.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Pam (Simon); children, Micaela Ellevold and Scott Emerson; mother, Alice Emerson; sister, Diane (Howard) Lauridsen; sister-in-law, Debbie (Joel) Laventure; brother-in-law, Mike Simon; nephews, Miles Lauridsen and Dan Dodge; nieces, Erin Lauridsen and Stacy Sindelar; and his beloved dogs, Willis and Solly.
Bruce was self-employed. Emerson Services: "Lawn Care, Home Maintenance, Painting" was stated on his business card, but he did so much more. Whatever the customer wanted he researched, analyzed, and worked until they were satisfied. He fulfilled the company name with an eye to detail and quality. Many will miss the conversations that they had with Bruce during the process. Bruce coached for several years at many levels in New Richmond - from middle school football to both boys and girls basketball. Bruce was the fourth generation to farm on his family farm.
He enjoyed gardening, cooking, walks in the woods with his dogs. He loved his family and was a devoted father, husband, brother, son, uncle, and friend.
