Shirley A. Lind, age 91, of New Richmond, Wis., passed away peacefully on Feb. 14.

Shirley A. Lind, age 91, of New Richmond, Wis., passed away peacefully on Feb. 14. She lived at the Deerfield in New Richmond since it opened 13 years ago.

Shirley was born in Freeport, Minn., on May 24, 1921. She attended school and graduated from the Waconia, Minn., high school. Shirley married Waino Lind on Sept. 1, 1942, and after his military service in WWII moved to Hibbing, Minn. They had four children, Wally, John, LeRoy, and Sandra. Shirley was a homemaker, and when the children got older, she took a job as a shipping/receiving clerk for the Maid of Scandinavia Co. in Minneapolis where she worked until retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Waino; son John; grandson Tim; parents; and by seven brothers and sisters.

Shirley is survived by her children Wally (Esther) Lind of New Richmond, LeRoy (Rose) Lind of Mora, Minn., and Sandra (Steve) Traxinger of Mandan, N.D.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers Wally (Gayle) Fox and Sheldon Fox; sister-in-law Helen Fox; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A very special thank you to all the staff at the Deerfield for all their support, care, and love the past 13 years.

Funeral service 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at the Deerfield Chapel, 1127 W. 8th St., New Richmond. Visitation 2 hours prior to service at the chapel. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
