Violet Adeline Wendt, age 86, of New Richmond, Wis., died on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the St. Croix Health Center in New Richmond.

Violet Adeline Wendt, age 86, of New Richmond, Wis., died on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the St. Croix Health Center in New Richmond.

Violet was born June 4, 1926, in La Crosse, Wis., to Orlo and Gladys (Johnson) Melvin.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Victor Wendt.

Violet is survived by her children, Darryl (June) Wendt, Bernard (Jean) Wendt, and Vicky Wendt; brother, James (Sharon) Melvin; nephew, John (Bobbi) Melvin; grandchildren, Jennifer (Douglas) Maier, Douglas (Jamie) Wendt, Cory (Nakita) Wendt, Cody Malluege, Robert Wendt, Alison (Dan) Vasarella, Tiffany (Nick) Deeb; great-grandchildren, Kelly Maier, Nolan Teske, Easton Wendt, Lincoln Wendt, Avery LaMar, Maisy Wendt, Alanna Malluege, and Ethan Fagnan.

Violet retired after 20 years from Andersen Windows. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Violet also played the piano and organ and was a member of the kitchen band the "Pan Handlers" playing a kazoo. She loved crocheting, cross-stitching, and had an award-winning doily at the St. Croix County Fair. Violet had gorgeous handwriting and did calligraphy signs for various people.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Somerset, Wis. Visitation 2 hours prior to the service at the church. Burial held at St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery following service. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
