Judith Reiss, age 76, of Deer Park, Wis., died Thursday, Feb. 28, at Amery Regional Medical Center.

She was born the daughter of Leonard and Ruth (Bader) Lind on June 25, 1936, in Roberts, Wis. She grew up in Roberts and attended Roberts High School. Her family moved to New Richmond before her senior year, and Judith graduated from New Richmond High School. She worked as a secretary for Doughboy Industries and Friday's Canning. On May 3, 1958, Judith married Norman Reiss at her parent's home in New Richmond. They moved to California and both went to work for Rohr Aircraft. After a year, they moved home. Norman's work took them to Random Lake, Wis., where they spent 32 years. While there, Judith worked as a secretary at the high school for a number of years. When they retired in 1995, they moved back to Deer Park.
Judith enjoyed reading, collecting antiques, and hiking in the mountains near Silverton, Colo. She was a sweet, honest woman with great character.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Ruth Lind; brother, Sonny Lind; and sister Elaine Lind.
Judith is survived by her husband, Norman Reiss; sisters Grace Capo and Fern Halquist; nieces, Cathy (Paul) Vlastelica and Mary (Steve) Beattie; and many cousins, relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, at the Deer Park United Methodist Church. Visitation will also be Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Deer Park. Memorials may be directed to the Deer Park Community Center.
