New Staff at Somerset School District

Somerset School District has hired 12 new staff members.

Age:41

Family: Husband Paul, kids Jake (15) and Taylor (12)

Position in the district: Special education aide.

Education: Western Wisconsin Technical College, LaCrosse.

Previous work experience: Worked on and off in Somerset School District since 2006.

Favorite hobbies/pastimes: I love to read, bake, cook and the outdoors.

Live in Hudson.<br /><br />Position in district: Occupational therapist.<br /><br />Education: BA: Psychology from Ausgustana college, Sioux Falls, S.D.<br /><br />MA: Occupational Therapy, St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minn.<br /><br />Previous work experience: 14 years as a CESA #11, OT working in several different districts.<br /><br />Favorite hobbies/pastimes: Gardening, biking, hiking, traveling and enjoying time with my family.

Two brothers, Jacob (17), a student at Neerah High School, and Lee (26), who works in Madison.<br /><br />Position on the district: High School social studies teacher.<br /><br />Education: Bachelor of Art-social science major (history major emphasis in politics, psychology) from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. <br /><br />Previous work experience: Server at Hilltop Pub and Grill in Stevens Point.<br /><br />Favorite hobbies/pastimes: Hiking, swimming, reading, hanging out with family and their children.

WDPI teacher licensure 6-12 social studies from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. <br /><br />Previous work experience: Substitute teacher 2011-2012 (Hudson, Baldwin-Woodville, New Richmond, and Ellsworth). Industry manufacturing 1994-2010.<br /><br />Favorite hobbies/pastimes: Sports/coaching (football/baseball).
  • <br />Penny Westerlund<br /><br /><br />Family: Blended family of 14 children.<br /><br />Position in the district: Occupational therapy assistant.<br /><br />Education: BS education, certified occupational therapist.<br /><br />Previous work experience: physical education teacher, children’s librarian, library director.<br /><br />Favorite hobbies/pastimes: Biking, horseback riding, travel.
  • <br />Megan Carlson-Formo<br /><br /><br />Age: 26<br /><br />Family: Husband Derrick, son Bennett, daughter Elizabeth, dog Molly Sue.<br /><br />Position in the district: Afternoon junior kindergarten teacher, and morning junior kindergarten aide.<br /><br />Education: BS in early childhood education from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.<br /><br />Previous work experience: Employed by Somerset School District for the past two years as junior kindergarten aide.<br /><br />Favorite hobbies/pastimes: Spending time with family and friends, being outside, taking walks.
  • <br />Bobby Hurt<br /><br /><br />Age: 27<br /><br />Family: I have a 2-year-old chocolate lab named Scout.<br /><br />Position in the district: Elementary school counselor.<br /><br />Education: Bachelor of Applied Sciences from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Master’s in school counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.<br /><br />Previous work experience: Worked with the Colfax school district in Wisconsin during my student internship and at Head Start 4K in Menomonie.<br /><br />Favorite hobbies/pastimes: I enjoy sports of all kinds, triathlon training and any outdoor activities with my dog.
  • <br />Nicole Anderson<br /><br /><br />Age: 27<br /><br />Family: Parents Doug and Kathy, younger brother Tyler.<br /><br />Position in the district: Middle school special education.<br /><br />Education: Bachelor of science in special education-cross-categorical from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.<br /><br />Previous work experience: Long-term sub at Clayton. Two years paraprofessional at Clayton. One year Paraprofessional at Weaver Elementary in Maplewood, Minn.<br /><br />Favorite hobbies/pastimes: Scrapbooking, reading, anything outside, spending time with my family, NASCAR, watching the Packers and Twins.
  • <br />Ashley Klubucher<br /><br /><br />Age: 24<br /><br />Family: Parents Robyn and David, seven brothers and sisters.<br /><br />Position in the district: Early childhood teacher.<br /><br />Education: Bachelors of applied sciences in communication sciences and disorders, with minors in special education and psychology. Licensure in early childhood special education. Autism Spectrum Disorder certificate.<br /><br />Previous work experience: University of Minnesota-Duluth Department of Education office assistant and teacher’s assistant for six years. Bait store for six years in hometown (Iron River). <br /><br />Favorite hobbies/pastimes: Volleyball, baking, reading, hanging out with my family, playing video games.
