  • Mike Schultz and wife Kris (not pictured) were recognized as the Chamber 'Member of the Year' <br /><br />by outgoing president Angela Olson, Wednesday evening.
  • This 30-inch high "Sensuous Blessings From Above" cake was the talk of the evening, thanks in part, to slightly suggestive copywriting in its preview description. The cake sold to a group from Bosch Packaging, Inc., for $3,000. <br /><br />The cake was donated by Family Fresh.
  • This Honey Nut Cheesecake was donated by the Laurel Supper Club and eventually sold to Royal Credit Union for $500, with all proceeds benefiting the Chamber.
  • Entitled "Chocoate Rumchata Cake", this cake sold for to a group of about a dozen businesses for $2,000. It was donated by R & D Catering.
  • A moist chocolate cake, slathered with Reese's Peanut Butter cups and peanut butter frosting, was donated by New Richmond Community Education and purchased by Westfields Hospital and the New Richmond Clinic for $1,600.
  • An elevated "White Russian Cake", donated by Brady's Brewhouse, was the second cake chosen during the auction. "Designated driver required..." the promotional copy said. The dessert brought $2,800.
  • A Red Velvet cheesecake, spiked with cocoa and baked in a dark chocolate crust, was purchased by the Royal Credit Union for $250. The cake was donated by the New Richmond News.
  • Entitled "Coffee Shop Dessert", this offering was a collection of cupcakes, chocolate espresso beans and a coffee mug cake. The creation was donated by JET's Coffee Bistro and purchased by Bakke Norman for $100.
  • A two-tiered cake covered in traditional buttercream frosting, vanilla and double-chocolate fudge, was purchased by J.A Counter, First National Community Bank and Bakke Norman for a $3,000 donation.
  • A pair of pies -- fresh apple and mixed berries -- made and donated by Crazy Ladies Kitchen, brought $225 from R & D Catering at Wednesday evening's benefit auction.
  • Representatives from Bosch Packaging, Inc., whose company will be honored in mid-February as <br /><br />Large Business of the Year by the St. Croix County Economic Development Corp., received a <br /><br />thank you from volunteer auctioneer Mike Montello Wednesday evening as they prepared to <br /><br />enjoy the giant chocolate cake they'd just purchased.
  • GTK Services LLC owners Ken and Lisa Bessac pose with the award they received for being named "Mom & Pop Business of the Year" from the Chamber.
  • More than 250 people attended Wednesday's annual New Richmond Chamber of Commerce Awards & Recognition banquet at R & D Catering.
  • Jonathan Timm was honored as the Chamber's "Ambassador of the Year" by President Scot Destasio and executive director Lisa Woletz.
  • Although Vernon Conrad received his award for "Citizen of the Year" a few weeks ago, he enjoyed a chance to grab the mic from Scot Destasio and offer his appreciation for the distinction.
  • Westfields Hospital President Steven Massey expressed his appreciation to the Chamber and members present, noting that the community hospital is often there when people come into the world, receive care during their lives and "when it's time to say good-bye" We celebrate this moment now but we accept the responsibility to (provide the community with good care) in the future."
