SMS students make 136 blankets for area charities

Somerset Middle Schools made 136 blankets Friday, Feb. 8, which will be donated to area charities.

The blankets were donated to area hospitals and shelters including Turningpoint (River Falls), Grace Place (Somerset), Lakeview Hospital (Stillwater, Minn.) and Woodwinds Hospital (Woodbury, Minn.).

  • After SMS students completed their fleece tie blankets, the blankets were brought to the gymnasium for an assembly. Pictured, students hold up the blankets their groups made. This year, SMS students made 136 blankets which were donated to area shelters and hospitals.

The blankets were made from fleece donated by SMS students or purchased with money donated by SMS students.
