The St. Croix Community Development Department has joined with YMCA Camp St. Croix to host the ninth annual Earth Day event, “Soils: Dig It!” The event is Sunday, April 21, from noon to 4 p.m. at YMCA Camp St. Croix in Hudson.
The highlight of the Hudson Home and Garden Club’s December meeting will be a visit from Rebecca Kolls. She will speak on the topic of bee-keeping at the Tuesday, Dec. 4 meeting beginning at 1 p.m. at the Phipps Center for the Arts. The meeting is free and open to the public.
Do you have a desire for fresh vegetables, but just don’t have the ground available to plant a garden? Are you thinking maybe with this year’s food prices, it might make sense to plant a garden? Are you a loco-vore who wants to eat fresh vegetables grown locally.
Over the past few years, there has been increased interest and activity in community gardens in our area. Some of these gardens have individual or rental plots, some produce food for local hunger prevention efforts, and some are a combination of different types of gardens.
