As another Memorial Day passes we are reminded that even though the casualties in Iraq have taken a drastic drop, the memories of those who have given their lives in that conflict are still very fresh in the minds of families and friends.
The recent approval of a cell phone tower in the lake district affecting residents of Middle Pine, Lower Pine and Swede lakes, demonstrates how little thought the Town of Alden and Polk County officials gave to the construction of a 190-foot cell phone tower.
Whether or not anyone has ever served in the United States Military or not just think of all of the time all of us waste every day dreaming, sleeping, watching TV, especially wasting our hard earned money on the stupidest things that we do not ever need.
