Angela Lubo wanted her kids to be comfortable around all types of people, so they took a trip to the St. Croix County Nursing Home earlier this year.
They’ve been going back to volunteer twice a month ever since.
This letter is in response to County Supervisor Steve Hermsen’s letter to the editor dated April 2. Good for you Mr. Hermsen, I applaud your courage to speak out about Supervisor Marzolf’s outrageously poor decision to spend county taxpayer monies to fund 15 private pay nursing home patients to the tune of $300,000.
Last Thursday, Oct. 2, the St. Croix County Finance Committee voted 4-1 in favor of downsizing our county nursing home from 72 beds to 42 beds, and in favor of forwarding that recommendation to the full County Board at its Oct. 21 meeting.
