Hammond Easter Egg Hunt
It was a wonderful afternoon for the Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4 at the St. Croix Central High School. Over 70 kids participated in this time held tradition that started 32 years ago with the True Blue 4-H group. This year was the first year this event was not held by the True Blue 4-H group, it was hosted by the Hammond Community Library and the Hammond Post Office and sponsored by the Hammond Lions Club.
The field was divided into four different age categories (4 and under, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade) and the kids just got to run and gather eggs. Every child was given a candy bag, an animal baseball cap, and a coupon to the Green Mill. Then there were prizes for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place found in the eggs for each age category, these were the grand prizes for the day. In addition this year, the kids put their names into a bucket for a chance to win other prizes. Everyone left a winner on Saturday J
Thank you to the Hammond Lions Club for sponsoring this event. Thank you to the following volunteers: Bill Jacobson and Family, Erin McComb, Sandy Brecht, Tony and Kristen Bibeau, Members of the Hammond Royalty, Micheala Ormston, Michele Lyksett, Michelle Johnson and countless others who helped before and during the Easter Egg Hunt. Your hard work and dedication made this a fun community event.
Through the smiles on the kids’ faces as they ran around and gathered the eggs and the many thank you’s from the appreciative parents…it says is all….THANK YOU!
