The Central St. Croix Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored their sixth annual Ice Fishing Tournament last Saturday, Jan. 31, at Twin Lakes in the Town of Warren west of Roberts. The weather cooperated with this year’s event and the turnout for fishing was spectacular.  Organizers said that even though it was a bit chilly on the lake, there was no blizzard or sub-zero temperatures to deter folks from coming out and having some fun.

The winning fishermen  included Youth Winner Riley Becker, first place Ryan Berg, second place Dave Sandquist, third place Paul Johnson, fourth place Luke Brown and fifth place Shane Becker.

Once the fishing was done, the tournament “After Party” continued at the Sidetrack Saloon and Grill in downtown Roberts from noon to 4 p.m. There everyone could get some wonderful homemade chili (made by Tricia Dull, co-owner of the Sidetrack) hot dogs, chips and beverages or food to order from the grill. With the warmth of the indoors everyone was able to participate in a  meat raffle (meat purchased from Roberts Neighborhood Foods), spinning wheel chances for prizes, dice games, door prizes and the main raffle.

Lucky winners of the big raffle prizes were:

-- James Cave, $5,000 in Polaris Dollars

-- James Cave, $500 Cabela’s Gift Card

-- Matt Delander, $300 BP Amoco Gift Card

-- Jerry Mueller , 55-inch large screen TV

-- Lori Edelman, $150 Local Business Gift Card Package
