Spring Sparkler set for Monday
The annual Spring Sparkler golf outing at the New Richmond Golf Club -- one that is sponsored jointly by the New Richmond Chamber of Commerce and New Richmond Golf Club (with business sponsorship) is set to begin at 12:30 p.m., Monday, May 16, at the New Richmond Country Club with a shotgun start.
This annual event provides an afternoon of networking, enjoying one of the area's finest golf courses, raffle prizes and dinner (6 p.m. social)
According to New Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce officials, the field is nearly filled with teams, but as of early this week, there were still several openings for individuals or team entrees. In addition, sponsoring a hole is a way to advertise and promote a business.
The holes can be manned or unmanned.
This year’s event will feature:
Low net foursome wins grand prize;
4 ball scramble format;
Each player must hit at least one drive in 18 holes;
Special events at each hole -- every hole will feature a 'test of skills,’ including longest drive, longest putt, closest to the pin and other contests;
In addition to awarding the top two foursomes, numerous raffle prizes will ensure that almost everyone wins something; and it’s
Rain or shine.
Looking ahead to weather forecasts, it’s expected that the weather will be around 65 degrees, so for the first time in three years participants may actually not need umbrellas or winter jackets.
Please note: The event this year begins a half hour earlier than last year: 12:30 p.m.
This event helps to fund a good cause - the New Richmond Fourth of July fireworks.
