JohnnyRide set for Sept. 17

Ride Saturday, Sept.17, on a bike tour to raise scholarship dollars.

JohnnyRide’s 16- to 25-mile loop from the Baldwin township hall via Glenwood City takes riders through Wisconsin’s beautiful, rolling countryside with its finest mid-September fall colors in full display.

Riders will gather at the Baldwin township hall, 2399 90th Ave., located just northeast of Baldwin. Watch for blue and white balloon markers and the blue JohnnyRide bike.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the ride starts at 10 a.m.

The two sag wagons will track the riders and offer cold drinks, treats, and whatever riders may need -- including a ride.

When finished, enjoy a hearty lunch.

This year’s menu features Texas-style barbecued beef brisket (cooked by a genuine Texan), too many “sides” to mention and all the desserts you can eat.

The $25 ride fee includes a 2016 JohnnyRide T-shirt, 25 raffle tickets, and the chance to win one of several unique raffle prizes -- including a donated 2016 Green Bay Packers football, signed by every member of the team and coaching staff.

JohnnyRide is sponsored by the Durand Heritage Foundation, a nonprofit corporation that awards scholarship dollars to anyone attending a college or postsecondary school.

To date, the Durand Heritage Foundation has awarded more than $19,000 to more than 40 students from across the country.
