Library hosting classes on identity protection

Body:

Friday Memorial Library is hosting a free class about protecting your identity at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 25. From online banking, taxes, medical records to monthly bills, personal information gets put through online accounts regularly. Learn how to protect that information and take control of your online identity. WESTconsin Credit Union representatives will be at the library to teach how to protect your identity as well as providing steps to take if it happens to you.

In addition, Wes, the mascot from WESTconsin Credit Union will be present from 10 a.m. Friday, April 28, for Little University. Wes will assist with a money-themed storytime and show us how to play the Making Cents matching game. This will be a great opportunity to expose kids to the basics of money.

Money Smart Week, April 22-29, is a national public awareness campaign coordinated by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago to help individuals and families better manage personal finances. As part of this wonderful initiative, the library partnered with WESTconsin Credit Union to provide the community some essential information on an extremely important topic.

If you are unable to attend the scheduled classes, please stop by the library throughout the week to obtain the informational handouts provided by WESTconsin Credit Union in addition to any library books, DVDs or resources to assist with your identity protection concerns.

For further information about these classes or other upcoming events, please contact the library at 715-243-0431 or online at www.newrichmondlibrary.org. Also, find current information on the Friday Memorial Library Facebook page.
