Hammond Heartland Days royalty candidates
Three young ladies are competing for Miss Hammond amid the Hammond Heartland Days festivities.
The pageant will be held at 5 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 13, at the St. Croix Central High School.

What school activities, sports and groups are you involved in? Football cheerleading, working the school store, student council and Pathfinders.
Why did you decide to decide to run for Miss Hammond? I decided to run for Miss Hammond because I was looking for a way to get more involved in my community as well as meet new people and explore and get to know the towns and communities around me.

What school activities, sports and groups are you involved in? Softball, choir, band, women's choir, women's barbershop, show choir, jazz band, brass ensemble.
Why did you decide to run for Miss Hammond? To try new things, meet new people, become more involved in my Hammond Community and more connected to the area around me and the people that represent it. To become more comfortable talking to people without having to rehearse a conversation in my head before I even open my mouth. To become closer friends with people I wasn't very close with. It looks good on college applications, confidence, to have a good reason to be sociable during the summer, to see new places I might not have seen before, to eat new things I might not have eaten before, to hear new puns, to represent my community, to do something good with my time.

Why did you decide to run for Miss Hammond? I decided to run for Miss Hammond because of the opportunity to represent our great community. It will be fun to meet other royalty and experience what makes their communities great.
