Sleep specialist to visit Somerset

The Disabilities Awareness Committee of Somerset School District (formerly the Autism Awareness Committee) is excited to offer a FREE presentation to ANYONE who would like to attend! (see attached flyer)

Dr. John Garcia, sleep specialist from Gillette Children's Specialty Clinics & Hospitals, will present a one hour lecture on "Sleep Issues/Disorders in Children with Disabilities" on Wednesday, July 31 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at Somerset Elementary School.

If you or someone you know is struggling with sleep issues in their home PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE forward this information to them. Although he will be talking specifically about issues that affect kids with disabilities, some of the treatment options and information works for typical sleep issues as well. Dr. Garcia will also be taking questions after the presentation and his Program Manager will be there with materials and information to hand out. This is your chance to talk to a sleep specialist before having to wait for an appointment and spending money on medical bills or expensive sleep studies!

Our target group is, of course, parents and caregivers of children with disabilities, but it's open to anyone and everyone and it's free.

Because Dr. Garcia is so busy and traveling from the cities after seeing patients all day they've asked for a minimum of 50 attendees. So we're asking everyone to please email their intention to attend to no later than July 29! (Of course we'd love to have 200+ attend!)
