The Kiwanis Club of New Richmond has scheduled its annual holiday lighting contest for Monday, Dec. 11, beginning at 6 p.m. Judges will be traveling the streets of New Richmond in search of special holiday lighting displays. The top homes will be selected as the competition winners.

This long time sponsored Kiwanis event was conceived to encourage the community to display their holiday spirit and beautify the city during this special season. Judging criteria includes consideration for the amount of work in designing the display, originality and creative holiday message.

Winners from the previous year will not be eligible for the same winning placement for this current year. Only homes located in the city limits of New Richmond are eligible for judging.

Efforts will be made to visit all the neighborhoods on the judging night. To prevent the possibility of missing a display, call Lindsey at 651-238-4528 to leave a message with a name and address for a nominated display.

New Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce gift certificates will be awarded to first place ($125), second place ($75), third place ($50) and fourth place ($50).
